Salah is one of the Five pillars of Islam. It is obligatory (Fardh) for Muslims to perform the Salah five times daily.
- Fajr: dawn, before sunrise.
- Zuhr: midday, after the sun passes its highest point.
- Asr: the last part of the afternoon.
- Maghrib: just after sunset.
- Isha: after sunset (end of Maghrib time) to last night before coming fajr .
It is Obligatory to perform the Salah on time. it’s our special duty to perform the Salah correctly with concentration.
Therefore you have to prepare very well before starting the Salah. If you are busy with any work, then stop the work shortly before the Salah and get mentally ready for the Salah (prayers).

(1) Chose a best Place
Imam Gazali says that there are two causes for losing Concentration on Salah.
The external causes are noise and Sound. a person should perform Salah in a silent place.
The Internal causes are thoughts, fear, stress, worries, etc.
Chose a Secluded/quiet place for Salah. it would be best to go to the nearest Masjid. Sometimes if you are unable to go outside, then choose a place in the house or office according to your convenience.
Women should Perform Salah at Home, not go to Masjid to perform Salah.
Narrated from Umm Salama (R), the messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said, ‘The best place for women to perform Salah is in a secluded corner of their house. (Musnad Ahmad, 26542) .
In another hadith,
Narrated Aisha (R) that, If the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) had seen what the women were doing, he would have forbidden them from going to the Masjid as the women of Bani Israel had been forbidden. (Bukhari 869
In another hadith,
Umm Humaid, the wife of Hazrat Abu Humaid As-Sayedi, once said to the Prophet (ﷺ), “O Allah’s Messenger, I like to perform salah with you in Jamaat.” Hearing this, the Prophet (ﷺ) said, “I know that.” But listen, performing Salah inside your house is better for you than performing in the verandah room.
Again, performing Salah in the verandah room is better for you than performing in the yard of your house. And performing Salah in the courtyard of your house is better for you than performing in the Masjid of your mahalla, similarly Performing Salah in the Masjid of your mahalla is better for you than coming to my Masjid and performing Salah with me.
The narrator of the hadith said that after hearing this, he asked the family members to make a place for Salah inside the house. It was built according to his instructions. Then he continued to pray here till his death. (Sahih Ibn Hibban H. No. 2217)
(2) Intention (Niyyat)
Intention (Niyyat) must be necessary to succeed in every task. In the same way, in order to perform Salah (Prayer) properly, it is necessary to make intentions from the heart. Whether it is worldly work or religious work, intention is necessary for success.
Narrated ‘Umar bin Al-Khattab: He said, I heard Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) saying, “The reward of deeds depends upon the intentions”Bukhari- Hadith no 01
“In truth, the intention is related to the heart. When you stand for Salah (Prayers), think actively about the Salah (Prayers).
Remind yourselves what you are about to do. As soon as you understand this, you will begin to concentrate.
It is very important to perform the Salah very carefully, remember that when you have made the intention for the Salah, then you have to perform it correctly. If you can build this think in your heart then you can concentrate on the Salah (prayers) Easily. In Sha Allah.
